Do I need an account to use Chatrandom?

Most users can chat as a guest without registering, but to unlock premium filters like gender and location or to access your chat history, you'll need a free or Plus account.

How do I sign up and log in?

Click "Join Now" to create an account or "Login" if you already have one. Check your spam folder if your verification email doesn't arrive.

I forgot my password—how can I reset it?

Click the "Forgot Password?" link on the login page and follow the instructions to reset your password securely.

What is Chatrandom Plus and how do I upgrade?

Plus unlocks premium features like gender and location filters, an ad-free experience, and private chat. Upgrade via My Account or within the mobile app.

I paid for Plus but can’t access premium features—what should I do?

Try refreshing the page or logging out and back in. If that doesn’t work, contact support with your payment receipt. We’re here to help!

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions via the website can be canceled in My Account. For in-app purchases, go to your Apple or Google Play subscription settings.

How do I delete my account?

Go to My Account → Settings → Delete Account. Note: Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone.

Why is the Chatrandom app crashing or not opening?

Make sure your app is updated to the latest version. Restart your phone, clear cache, or reinstall the app if the issue persists.

I can’t log in on the mobile app—what should I do?

Double check your email and password, and ensure caps lock is off. If you signed up on the website, use the same credentials. If you're banned, login won't work—see the Bans section.

I’m not connecting to anyone on the app—what’s wrong?

Check your internet connection, enable camera/microphone access, and make sure your filters aren't too specific. Try the web version to test if it's app-related.

Where are features like filters or chat rooms?

Some features are found in menus or under icons in the mobile app. If a feature is only on desktop, we’ll indicate it clearly.

How do I update or uninstall the app?

Use the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) to update or remove the app. Make sure you’re running iOS 12+ or Android 7+.

Why isn’t my webcam turning on?

Allow webcam access in your browser or mobile settings. If blocked, go to browser settings → Permissions → Camera → Allow for Chatrandom.

No one can see or hear me—how do I fix this?

Check your mic isn’t muted and camera lens isn’t covered. Choose the correct input/output device in your system or browser settings.

I can’t see or hear the other person—what should I do?

Ensure your volume is up, no mute toggled, and advise your partner to check their mic or cam too. If in doubt, click "Next" to meet someone else.

The video is slow or lagging—how do I improve quality?

Use a stable internet connection, close background apps, and avoid VPNs or proxies. If on Wi-Fi, try switching to wired or stronger signal.

The chat won’t load on my computer—what can I do?

Check your firewall and antivirus settings. Update your browser or try a different one. Disable any VPN or proxy if you're having trouble connecting.

Why was I banned from Chatrandom?

Common reasons include offensive behavior, harassment, abuse or suspected underage appearance.

How long does a ban last?

Temporary bans usually last 1 hour to 7 days. Serious or repeated violations may result in a permanent ban.

Can I appeal a ban or get unbanned?

If you believe your ban was a mistake, contact support. In some cases, there may be an option to appeal listed within the ban itself. Otherwise, wait for the automatic review.

How do I avoid getting banned?

Follow the rules: no nudity unless in the adult area, be respectful, don’t impersonate others, and never show anything illegal.

How do I report or block someone?

Click the flag icon in chat to report abusive users, reports are reviewed promptly and immediate action is taken when a violation is discovered.

Is Chatrandom safe and private?

Chatrandom is anonymous by default, but public by nature—treat each chat as if it could be recorded. We don’t share your personal info, and other users only see your webcam and country flag (based on IP).

What can others see about me?

Only your gender, webcam (if enabled) and your general region. They cannot see your exact location, email, or real name unless you share it.

How do I stay safe on Chatrandom?

• Never share personal info like your full name or address
• Don’t click on links from strangers
• End any chat that makes you uncomfortable
• Report abuse or suspicious behavior immediately

How do I report abuse?

Use the flag icon in the chat to report inappropriate behavior. Moderators review reports and take action when necessary.

What if I feel harassed?

Click the flag icon to report the person, click "Next" to skip them, and adjust your filters.

What is Chatrandom?

What are the different chat sections?

Random Chat connects you with anyone. Gay Chat matches you with gay men. Local Chat lets you video chat with people in your region. Chat Rooms are themed spaces for conversations via text and cam.

Can I choose who I chat with?

Free users are matched randomly. For gender and location filters, you’ll need a Plus account. You can also use Gay Chat, Chat Rooms or Local Chat to connect with specific groups without upgrading. Filters give you more control over who you match with.

How can I reconnect with someone I met?

Can I use Chatrandom without a webcam?

Yes! You can join without a camera and use text-only chat. You can also upload a profile image so partners can see who they’re chatting with. Just know that turning on your webcam usually leads to more matches and longer chats."

How do I change my language?

Click the “My Account” link in the top-right corner, then go to Chat Settings > Translation to select your preferred language. On mobile, Chatrandom automatically uses your device’s language setting.
